I appreciate you reading the piece, and even though you’ve made a ton of incorrect assumptions and insulted me in your opening line, I still appreciate your taking additional time to write the response.

To be clear, we had introduced ourselves, and this particular neighbor had met all of my family, and our dog previously, on a couple of occasions in fact. There is absolutely no world where he thought it was a stray, further highlighted by the fact he came to my house immediately screaming about my dog. He knows that dog, and knows it’s not violent. Another neighbor's dog gets out frequently, is a pit bull, and they’ve never had him on their doorstep and they live closer in fact.

I’ve got room on my property to shoot, and a range nearby, but that’s sound advice if I didn’t.
