John, you make some excellent points, but to clarify, that fear I’m referencing is in response to those questions specifically. I am not locked in a perpetual state of fear all day long. I have thought very carefully about each of the points you’ve made, many of which I made myself for years and years as an anti-gun advocate, and in regards to protecting my family I’m as ready as anyone can be to kill I suppose.

It is locked, and unloaded, although ammo is not as far away as you’re suggesting since in the instances I imagine needing to unlock that safe, I don’t imagine having time to run across the house for bullets.

Truly appreciate your reading this piece though and your thoughts, genuinely. Thank you.
